| AI OVERVIEW
CoverSure is built by a small team of insurance, product, and technology folks who got tired of watching people misunderstand their own policies. The founding group brings prior experience from India’s insurance and financial services sector; the wider team spans product, technology, design, growth, and customer success. This piece introduces the people behind CoverSure and walks through everything they’ve actually built, from Policy Health Check to CoverSure Pro to Unfold, in a light, personality-first format rather than a formal leadership page. |
Every app has a backstory. Ours involves a lot of spreadsheets and one very stubborn belief.
Somewhere between a hospital bill nobody understood and a policy document nobody read past page two, a small group of people decided insurance in India needed a translator. Not another seller. Not another agent chasing a commission. A translator.
That belief turned into CoverSure: a platform that reads your policy so you don’t have to squint at 40 pages of clauses, tells you what you’re actually covered for, and points out the free insurance sitting quietly on your credit card that you never noticed.
But apps don’t build themselves (yet), so before we get into everything the platform actually does, let’s talk about who’s behind the screen. Consider this the cast list, minus the dramatic music.

The founders’ table
-
Saurabh Vijayvergia, Founder & CEO: “The Mastermind”
Before CoverSure: over a decade of building financial products and insurance technology solutions in India, with leadership roles at Future Group India, Religare and HSBC, where he focused on building solutions from the ground up.
What he does at CoverSure: sets the mission, and then repeats it until it’s tattooed on every roadmap: help people understand and use the insurance they already have, and buy only what they actually need. When a feature idea shows up that would sell more but explain less, Saurabh is the one asking, “And how does that help the user at 2 a.m. in a hospital?”
Why it matters to you: it’s the reason CoverSure starts with “What do you already own?” instead of “Buy this.”
-
Harshit Jain, Co-Founder & CPO: “The Blueprint Keeper”
Before CoverSure: extensive experience in technology infrastructure for financial services, including a stint at HDFC Life, and a founding member of Zimmber (now QuikrEasy), where he helped build the startup and drive growth.
What he does at CoverSure: turns “customers are confused” into actual screens, flows, and features. If you’ve ever uploaded a policy and felt the app just got it, that’s the product thinking Harshit’s team obsesses over. He’s also the person most likely to delete a button because “it’s one tap too many.”
Why it matters to you: features like Know Your Policy and the Insurance Portfolio are built to answer real questions, not to fill a feature list.
The founding members
-
Prakash Dubey, Founding Member & CDO: “The Getaway Driver”
Before CoverSure: extensive experience in insurance sales, digital distribution and channel strategy, with leadership roles at Hello Zindagi and YES BANK, where he led new sales models and scaled high-performing teams across digital and physical channels.
What he does at CoverSure: gets CoverSure to the people who need it, fast, and makes sure that when someone does need a policy, the route from “I need cover” to “I’m covered” is smooth and honest. In heist terms: he knows every road out of the building, and none of them go through a pushy sales pitch.
Why it matters to you: smoother journeys for things like Insurance Renewal and buying cover only when there’s a real gap.
-
Rohan Gaikwad, Founding Member & Principal Officer: “The Rule Keeper”
Before CoverSure: a strong background in finance, including distribution planning and programme management at HDFC Life, and Head of Distribution Finance at Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, focusing on business strategy and digital platforms.
What he does at CoverSure: as Principal Officer, he’s responsible for making sure CoverSure plays by IRDAI’s rules as a registered Corporate Agent. Every clever idea eventually meets Rohan, who asks the most important question in any heist movie: “Is this actually allowed?”
Why it matters to you: trust. You’re dealing with a regulated entity (Reg. No. CA0894), and someone senior’s whole job is to keep it that way.
The builders
-
Ketan Patil, CTO: “The Engine Room”
Before CoverSure: [EDITOR: add 1 to 2 verified career highlights from Ketan’s LinkedIn profile. I could not access LinkedIn to verify them.]
What he does at CoverSure: leads the technology that reads your policies, keeps your data secure, and makes sure the app works when it matters most. If Know Your Policy is the brain that understands your policy, Ketan’s team built the nervous system that carries it.
Why it matters to you: an app that holds your family’s policies has to be fast, reliable, and locked down. That’s the brief, every single day.
-
Naveen Prabhakar, Director of Technology: “The Safecracker”
Before CoverSure: [EDITOR: add 1 to 2 verified career highlights from Naveen’s LinkedIn profile.]
What he does at CoverSure: turns messy, multi-format insurance documents and data into something structured and usable, and keeps the systems behind features like Insurance SOS and renewals running smoothly. Every insurer formats its policies differently; cracking all of them is very much a safecracker’s job.
Why it matters to you: less typing, fewer errors, and the right details in front of you when you need them.
-
Saloni Mehta, DVP, Design: “The Illusionist”
Before CoverSure: [EDITOR: add 1 to 2 verified career highlights from Saloni’s LinkedIn profile.]
What she does at CoverSure: makes 40 pages of policy wording look like a 40-second read. The trick in any good illusion is that the hard work stays invisible, and that’s the job: take a clause like “proportionate deduction” and design it into something your parents can understand on a phone screen.
Why it matters to you: if it feels easy, it’s because someone worked very hard to make it feel that way.
The founder’s office
-
Atul Sharma, AVP Growth & Strategy: “The Strategist”
Before CoverSure: [EDITOR: add 1 to 2 verified career highlights from Atul’s LinkedIn profile.]
What he does at CoverSure: figures out how to get insurance clarity into more Indian households, and which problems to solve next. Think partnerships, experiments, and the “what if we tried…” ideas that turn into features and campaigns.
Why it matters to you: more people discovering things like free cover through Insurance on Cards before they need it.
-
Sophia Halder, DVP, Customer Success: “The Inside Voice”
Before CoverSure: [EDITOR: add 1 to 2 verified career highlights from Sophia’s LinkedIn profile.]
What she does at CoverSure: makes sure the customer’s voice gets into every room, loudly. Complaints, confusion, “why is this so hard?” moments: Sophia’s team hears them first and makes sure they become fixes, not just tickets. When a user is stuck on a claim or a renewal, customer success is the difference between an app and a helping hand.
Why it matters to you: a real team behind the app, and a path to Advisory when you’d rather talk to a human.
So what has this team actually built? (The full tour, not the highlight reel)
Job titles only tell you so much. The honest way to understand this team is to walk through what they’ve shipped, because every one of these started as an argument in a meeting room about whether it would genuinely help someone.
-
Policy Health Check
Point Policy Health Check at an existing policy, yours or one you’re considering, and it scans the actual structure: co-pay, room rent limits, sub-limits, waiting periods, restoration benefits, the works. It’s the tool that turns “I think I’m covered” into “here’s exactly what you are and aren’t covered for.”
-
Insurance Portfolio
Every policy you own- health, life, motor, home, travel- in one dashboard instead of six inboxes. Insurance Portfolio is the reason you can finally answer “when does my motor policy renew?” without opening your email app.
-
Know Your Policy
Insurance documents are written for underwriters, not for the people buying them. Know Your Policy translates yours into plain language, so claim time isn’t the first time you learn what your policy actually says.
-
Insurance on Cards
Your credit and debit cards likely came with embedded insurance you never activated or even knew about: personal accident cover, purchase protection, travel insurance. Insurance on Cards surfaces exactly what’s already yours, for free.
-
Advisory
Sometimes you just want to talk to a person. Advisory connects you with IRDAI-certified experts for a free, no-pressure conversation about what you actually need, not what pays the biggest commission.
-
Motor Club
For everything four-wheeled and two-wheeled: Motor Club tracks your motor insurance, challans, and PUC status in one place, so a traffic notice doesn’t ambush you months later.
-
Insurance SOS
The feature nobody wants to need and everybody’s grateful exists. Insurance SOS gets you one-tap emergency assistance for a medical or vehicle emergency, alerting your contacts and pulling up your relevant coverage on the spot.
-
Insurance Renewal
A lapsed policy can undo years of accumulated bonus and reset waiting periods overnight. Insurance Renewal makes sure that never happens by accident, with reminders well ahead of your grace period.
-
CoverRisk Calculator
An AI-powered engine that takes your age, city, income, lifestyle, and health profile and tells you, honestly, whether you’re under-insured, over-insured, or just right. CoverRisk Calculator replaces guesswork with an actual number.
And that’s not even the end of CoverSure’s Offerings!
-
Beyond the free tools: CoverSure Pro
For people who want to go deeper than the free tools, CoverSure Pro is the paid subscription layer: priority support, deeper policy insights, and full access to the platform’s more advanced features for a flat annual fee. Think of it as the difference between a free health check-up and a full annual physical, both useful, but one goes a lot further.
-
The gamified side of insurance: Unfold
Unfold is CoverSure’s answer to a genuine problem: insurance content is important, and almost nobody wants to read it. Unfold turns learning about coverage into something closer to a game, complete with a mascot, CoverCoins that reward you for engaging with the content, and a Refer & Earn layer that turns your friends into fellow learners instead of sales targets. It also houses state health scheme banners and a real-claims stories section, so the lessons aren’t hypothetical; they’re drawn from what actually happened to real policyholders.
Client-first isn’t a slogan on our careers page; it’s a running argument in our team chat
The honest version of “client-first” at CoverSure looks less like a value on a poster and more like Rohan asking Harshit whether a feature is actually compliant before it’s allowed to be convenient, or Sophia forwarding a user’s confused message to the product team with the subject line “we need to fix this, not just explain it better.” It’s a little chaotic. It also means fewer surprises for the person using the app.
